Introduction of Controlled Airspace

From 29 July 2010, by agreement of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), Class C Controlled Airspace will be introduced within the Shannon FIR. The new airspace has been established in order to meet the legislative requirements of the IAA and permits arrivals to City of Derry Airport using the new instrument approach procedures effective on this date, to cross the Shannon FIR boundary and complete the instrument approach procedures within the Shannon FIR.
